Open letter to Pablo Veron:
Open letter to Pablo Veron:
What happened to Civility?
We leave in a very sad world: day after day we hear about scandals regarding celebrities misbehaving terribly in the media!
The latest Pablo Veron incident is yet an other example!
It did not get that publicized, because outside of the Tango world nobody has even heard of him, but for some of us who enjoy the dance tremendously we are very disappointed and sadden by the disrespectful behavior he demonstrated!
And yet we enable people like him to misbehave so badly because we consider them for bad reasons a sort of a God above us!
This man slapped and then through on the floor a female dancer that had the “audacity” to ask him for a dance in a very witty way: “Can I have a Tango lesson, please?”
Not only PV has no sense of humor whatsoever but also he is an animal: what happened to the response: “no thank you” there is absolutely no excuse for this attack!
A man should never use violence against a woman.
We women must learn how to say “no” to dancers we do not wish to dance with: if we had to slap and through on the floor every man that we do not want to dance with, the ER would be filled with these poor guys!
The fact that we enable celebrities like him to treat women like that is absolutely wrong. Had he been a regular guy, he would have not gotten away with the same treatment!
Pablo Veron you should publically apologize to this woman: that will make you not only a great dancer but also a better man!
On top of that, there is plenty of good anger management treatment available to people like you who need help!
I encourage everybody in the Tango world to boycott PV until he does those 2 things
Thank you

boycott Pablo Veron
Hello All
Some of you have attended the All Night Milonga in New York City this Saturday and some haven’t but I feel compelled to share with you the TRUE accounts of what had happened as I find it to be extremely disturbing and feel that we need to do something about this.
I happen to know the True story as I heard it on Sunday from the woman who was assaulted by Pablo Veron along with my own observations of the unfolding story.
This woman is an elegant, sophisticated civilized person who has been part of the tango community in NY for 6 years and is a supporter of the various milongas and is known as an excellent dancer.
At the All Night Pablo Veron made an appearance and was sitting and at times dancing as well.
After dancing with one of the performing stars of the evening this Tanguera approached him and in a good and light spirit asked him if he is in fact Pablo Veron and if he she can have a Tango Lesson.
His response was rude and brushed her off. Rosa Collantes sitting next to him in a very patronizing tone intervened saying “this is not how it is done in Argentina”.
The woman replied well this is not Argentina and this is how things are done in my country (meaning NY) she furthered continued and said “I would not dance with you even if you asked me”.
To that Pablo Veron got up called her a Stupid Woman then slapped her on the face kicked her and knocked her on the floor. She ended up with a bruised hand.
No one around – not men or women who witnessed this did anything to help her. She got up and retaliated in self defense.
Veron continued sitting there as if he owns the place.
No one did anything but defend this thug who had just assaulted this woman.
After they were separated this woman (rightfully angry and hurt physically) took a cup with wine and went on the side throwing it in his face.
He then started chasing her in an attempt to hurt her physically. Finally he left.
The host of the milonga did nothing. In fact she was trying to throw her our instead of him. She did not call the police after the assault she did not offer her even an apology.
I find this an outrage. I truly hope this matter will be brought to the police and charges will be pressed against this thug. But if not there is still something that we as a civilized community can do about it.
I ask you not to support or attend his workshops.
I ask that your voice be heard so that a public apology would be given by the organizer of this milonga.
Please spread the TRUE story around as it is shameful and appalling that any person should be treated this way.
